Big Car Collaborative and Wavepool: Transformational community change through cultural organizations
CNU Midwest Webseries
[Virtual]
Please join us to hear two guests discuss the innovative ways they connect people through the places and programs they create. This month's guests for Midwest Change Makers are both Co-Founders of arts and cultural organizations with a broader mission to build community and find creative approaches to persistent problems in urban areas. Each is transforming their community.
Wave Pool was started by artist husband and wife team Calcagno and Geoffrey ‘Skip’ Cullen as a way to connect artists to each other and to others, allowing for a team-driven approach to regional arts development and elevating a neighborhood through experimental arts integration in real and meaningful ways.
As a nonprofit art and design organization, Big Car Collaborative utilizes tools of culture and creativity to build community and social cohesion — helping connect people as a way to boost quality of life.
Guests: Jim Walker of Big Car Collective (Indianapolis) and
Calagno Cullen of Wavepool (Cincinnati)
Date: Friday, January 22, 2021
