World Town Planning Day is celebrated in 30 countries on four continents each November. It is a special day to recognize and promote the role of planning in creating livable communities.

November 13: Western Knolls – Oxford Area

This year we've selected the City's own property, the vacant "Western Knolls" 47 acre property on Oxford Reilly Road. This is a sizeable chunk of our town that is prime for development. It has infrastructure access but lacks development plans at this time. Perhaps creating a shared vision and land plan for the site will entice a development that is complementary to the neighborhoods and also fills a need for our entire community. This event will be led by City staff and a licensed architect. Students from a Miami University Community Based Leadership class will also be shadowing the event to apply their classroom knowledge. Registrants should have some basic design knowledge and experience. This event is not targeted at the general public. Citizen planners from city boards, Engineers, Architects, Urban Planners, Developers and a limited number of neighborhood representatives are encouraged to attend.
