Development Associates support the Millennia Housing Development team throughout the process of acquiring and rehabilitating affordable and market rate multifamily communities. The Development Associate position serves as an entry level opportunity to begin a career in real estate finance and development. The right candidate will have an entrepreneurial drive and be comfortable working to solve difficult problems under short deadlines. Additionally, they will constantly push hard to reach the finish line, solve problems independently, and help the entire team achieve our mission to transform multifamily communities into places that anyone would love to call home.

A typical day as a Development Associate includes all of the following: *Collecting, filing, and reviewing project specific due diligence. *Ordering required professional reports and arranging site visits for third party partners between management, seller, and/or the broker. *Managing lender and equity syndicator checklists by gathering the required due diligence and preparing documents. *Preparing and submitting government approvals necessary to acquire new properties. *Assisting with the completion and submission of applications to State Housing Finance Agencies. *Attending relevant housing finance agency conferences and trainings. *Preparing and mailing letters, coordinating conference calls, arranging travel and conference registrations, and preparing UPS shipments for the Millennia Housing Development team.

You will be a competitive candidate for this position if: * You have at least two years of experience in a fast paced, professional environment. * You’ve achieved at least a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as business administration, accounting, or city and regional planning. If you have obtained a Graduate Degree, that is even better! * You can demonstrate excellent written/verbal communication skills, including the judgment and ability to compose correspondence and reports. * You demonstrate strong organizational skills and a keen ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize conflicting demands, and meet deadlines.
