Planner II (Historic Preservation)

The Planning Division of the Columbus Department of Development seeks qualified candidates to fill two Planner II positions focused on historic preservation. The City’s preservation program provides staffing to five historic architectural review commissions and oversees the Columbus Register of Historic Properties. Positions involve working with a wide variety of stakeholders. Candidates should be organized, dependable and detail oriented. They should have strong communication skills, a working knowledge of historic preservation, city planning, and development review. Minimum qualifications are a master's degree in historic preservation, urban planning or a related field and one year of related professional experience, or a bachelor's degree and two years of experience.
