Planning & Zoning Administrator

City of Zanesville

The City of Zanesville is seeking applicants for the position of Planning & Zoning Administrator in the Community Development Department. Duties include: Administers the City’s planning and zoning code. Reviews zoning applications involving all private property in the City, determines compliance with planning and zoning code, mediates conflicts and enforces regulations. Researches and analyzes data. Completes and processes zoning permits, staff reports, ordinances and other documentation. Provide support and coordinates meetings for the various City Boards and the Planning Commission. Inspects properties and reviews zoning violation complaints. Provides planning recommendations. Works with Director in updating City’s plans and zoning codes. Qualifications include a degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban planning, business administration, public administration, or a related field and/or an appropriate combination of education, training, course work, and experience. State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License is required. This position is full-time, unclassified, with a pay of $18.44 – $33.20 per hour (DOQ) and is covered by Public Employment Retirement System with medical, dental, and optical included.
