Community Development Specialist & Grant Coordinator

CDC of Ohio is a small community development consulting firm located in Columbus, Ohio that specializes in the administration of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home (HOME) Investment Partnership “CHIP Housing” State program grants. CDC of Ohio is looking for a candidate to help with the administration of CDBG Allocation, Neighborhood Revitalization, Critical Infrastructure, Residential Public Infrastructure, and Community Housing Impact and Preservation Programs (CHIP) and related grant programs for small cities and counties. These grants primarily focus on improving public infrastructure and housing.

Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, City and Regional Planning, Urban Studies or related field. • Work experience in the administration of CDBG and/or HOME programs, preferably under the State Small Cities Program (2 years minimum). Job Responsibilities: • Work with local governments to develop, write, submit and administer CDBG and CHIP grants. • Prepare Environmental Review Records. • Procurement of engineers, contractors and related professionals. • Project Management including procurement, contract management, Davis-Bacon and Labor Standards, financial management, Fair Housing and related federal and state compliance requirements. • Work with local housing rehabilitation specialists and case processors on the administration of CHIP grants.

Basic Skills and Abilities: • Comfortable speaking in front of local officials, county commissioner meetings, city councils, public audiences and leading meetings. • Able to work independently. • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel. • Must have valid Ohio Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
