CITY OF DUBLIN, OHIO – PLANNING DIVISION

The City of Dublin, Ohio is seeking a Planner II to support the administration of the City’s zoning, subdivision, and annexation processes. Dublin prioritizes high quality commercial, residential, and mixed use development and improvements that are consistent with the City's comprehensive plan, area plans, development codes, and planning policies. On the Current Planning Team, this professional position assists the team manager in coordinating the work of the unit. Various responsibilities include managing and conducting plan reviews of development proposals, performing independent research, and preparing relevant reports with minimal supervision. The position is also responsible for managing special projects, reviewing and preparing code amendments, and completing planning documents. The Planner II position oversees, mentors, and guides the work of Planner I’s, Planning Technicians, and Planning Interns depending on project or case assignment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS A Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture or related field. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the Planner II role, which may be attained through demonstrated experience and successful performance over a period of 1-2 years in a Planner I role. A candidate’s knowledge, abilities and skills, should include but not be limited to: Knowledge of the principles and practices of comprehensive planning, urban design, zoning and land use; Ability to assemble and organize and analyze relevant information, and to write reports on a variety of planning, development, zoning and related matters; Possess advanced technical skills in software applications including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS, Sketch Up, and Photoshop; Ability to prepare maps, charts, sketches and complex graphics; Ability to read, develop, and interpret planning, zoning and land use maps; Knowledge of Ohio's enabling statutes pertaining to zoning and community development.
