Environmental Coordinator (G.I.S. Mapping Specialist) & Floodplain Administrator Trumbull County Ohio, is a combination of both urban and rural communities situated in the northeast corner of Ohio. It is between the Youngstown, Cleveland and Akron corridors. The County's population is approximately 215,000. Trumbull County consists of five cities, six villages, and twenty-four townships. Under the direction of the Director, the Environmental Coordinator (G.I.S. Mapping Specialist) & Floodplain Administrator is primarily responsible for Trumbull County’s Floodplain Management, G.I.S. Mapping, Environmental Planning & Implementation. Responsible for assembling and developing land use, sociological, economic, and related data and developing recommendations for improvements throughout Trumbull County and is the consultant for the Planning Commission regarding environmental issues. If you have three years of experience with this work, we want to hear from you! The incumbent will be responsible for Trumbull County’s ArcView Geographic Information Systems (G.I.S.) Mapping and Floodplain Administration. Also, you will be responsible for conducting research and compiling data/environmental information for the various comprehensive plans and studies undertaken by the Planning Commission. The ability to offer Technical Assistance, Grant/Resolution/Ordinance Writing and Research, Public Relations and Community Outreach to the Department is important. At times, Web Site Design and Maintenance is needed. You’ll act as Consultant for the County Commissioners and Planning Commission on environmental issues. Environmental planning, analysis and recommendations to local governments and public via Comprehensive Land Use Planning Projects and ArcGIS Mapping. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or one of the physical or social sciences from an accredited college or university and three plus years of relevant experience. You should be proficient with ArcView Geographic Information Systems Mapping, ArcGIS, Arc Toolbox, and Arc Catalog. Certification is a big plus. and have an understanding of environmental issues and floodplain functions, regulations and permitting, and grant writing.
