Trumbull County Planning Commission

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Assistant Director of the Planning Commission responsible for the review and processing of deeds and plats and enforcement of the Trumbull County Subdivision Regulations as well as providing recommendations and technical assistance on Township Zoning Amendments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. 35% Provide administration and enforcement of Subdivision Regulations for all residential and commercial projects in the unincorporated areas of Trumbull County. Review all divisions of land, subdivision plans, plats, survey maps and deeds for conformance to the Regulations. Coordinate the requirements of the Regulations with County and Township officials, engineers, surveyors and developers. 25% Provide recommendations and technical assistance on Township Zoning Amendments and related issues by reviewing zoning amendments involving changes in the township districts and their zoning resolution as it relates to the County and/or Township Comprehensive Plan, land use, and pattern of development. 20% Research pertinent information, evaluate and submit a monthly agenda with recommendations for a course of action to the Plats and Zoning Committee concerning all of the above. 5% Secure and maintain a record of construction maintenance and performance bonds from developers. 5% Provide mapping of land information required for various plans, studies and reports, and calculate land areas. 5% Provide assistance and information to county and township officials as well as the general public on issues relating to Zoning, Subdivision Regulations, Census Information, floodplains and wetlands. 5% Other contracts, plans, grants, projects, activities and studies as needed. \

Education & Experience - Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, Professional surveyor registration desirable.
