Associate Planner

City of Zanesville

The City of Zanesville is seeking applicants for the position of Associate Planner in the Community Development Department.

Duties include: Reviews, completes and processes zoning applications involving all private property in the City, inspects properties and reviews zoning violation complaints, determines compliance with planning and zoning code, mediates conflicts and enforces regulations. Provides support to the Planning and Zoning Administrator in preparing materials for the various Departmental Boards and Commissions. When assigned, attends meetings and serves as staff to Boards and Commissions. Provides planning recommendations for updates to City’s plans and codes. Researches and analyzes data utilized in the preparation of documentation required to be submitted with grant applications. Aids in administering grants received by the City. Participates in coordination and delivery of the strategic planning process for programs and initiatives of the department.

Qualifications include a degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban planning, business administration, public administration, or a related field and/or an appropriate combination of education, training, course work, and experience. State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License is required.

This position is full-time, unclassified, with a pay of $20.01 per hour (DOQ) and is covered by Public Employment Retirement System with medical, dental, and optical included.
