Zoning Inspector Village of Plain City Plain City, OH 43064 Salary – $35,000.00 – $45,000.00 per year Full-time POSITION SUMMARY: This position description is intended to outline the duties of Zoning Inspector . It does not supersede but works in conjunction with the Ohio Revised Code, Ohio Administrative Code and the Ordinances of the Village of Plain City. This position is appointed by the Mayor and reports directly to the Village Administrator. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Typical duties and responsibilities: Issuance of Zoning Permits, Certificate of Zoning Compliance, Collection of fees , Making and keeping of records, Inspection of building or land for code violations, Enforcement of the property maintenance code, Maintaining Zoning Map Advise the Planning and Zoning Commission of all matters other than routine duties pertaining to the enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance and transmit to the Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission all applications and records pertaining to supplements and amendments. Advise Board of Zoning Appeals of all matters pertaining to conditional use permits, appeals or variances and transmit to the Chairman of the Board of Zoning Appeals all applications and records pertaining thereto. Attendance at meetings of the Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals is required. MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS: Computer terminal, with programs including Word, WordPerfect, and Excel; standard office equipment. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Experience preferred.
