Development Planner
City of Grove City
Reviews and /or assists in the review and analysis of applications for technical accuracy in all aspects including land use, zoning, design, and all other aspects of the codified ordinances of the City of Grove City and comprehensive planning documents and plans. Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of detailed reports on matters including zoning, development, demographics, housing, sustainability, environmental impacts, including long rage planning documents for the City. Assists developers and citizens in submitting requests for consideration by Planning Commission, and City Council through telephone, Internet, email, and personal contact, including the interpretation of zoning ordinances as well as plans and policies. Provides and/or assists in providing technical and policy information to architects, developers, contractors, realtors, bankers, landowners, engineers, the public, and others to assure understanding and compliance with City development policies and codes. Assists the preparation and presentation of technical reports, studies, analysis and recommendations to the Planning Commission and City Council regarding proposed land uses, rezoning, developments, redevelopments and code amendments. Creates and/or assists in the development of a variety of digital mapping products using various software platforms; captures data; creates and manipulates databases; produces hard copy maps using GIS and CAD software platforms; analyzes and/or assists in designing methods and procedures for the development of new or modifications of existing Geographic Information System (GIS) applications; troubleshoots; prepares and maintains files and records. Maintains contact with contractors, architects, applicants, developers, the general public, and various government agencies/officials in order to obtain or disseminate information related to the essential position functions. Maintains required licensure and certification, if any. Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Performs other related duties as assigned.
