The City of Fairview Park is accepting applications for the position of the Director of Economic Development & Public Service with experience and knowledge of municipal operations, planning and development, and public works. This position is responsible for facilitating community and economic development planning and initiatives, coordinating a comprehensive effort to manage and support the social, economic, and physical development and redevelopment of the City. The Director will facilitate and create programs that retain and attract both residents and businesses to provide for sustainable growth of the City's tax base and the economic stability of the community. This position also requires experience in managing municipal operations and providing leadership of all public works and undertakings of the City. The Director reports directly to the Mayor and works in a team environment with City officials and stakeholders. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning or related field – a Master’s Degree in the listed fields is preferred, at least five years of relevant experience in areas such as municipal management, business and commercial area revitalization, small business development, attraction/retention/expansion activities and a comprehensive understanding of municipal service department functions are welcome to apply.
