Planner I/GIS Operator

Logan-Union-Champaign (LUC) Regional Planning Commission

The Logan-Union-Champaign (LUC) Regional Planning Commission is accepting resumes for the position of Planner I/GIS Operator. An early career professional community and regional planning position.

Under general direction of the LUC Director, the Planner I/GIS Operator prepares land use plans, maps, data, and studies; reviews and makes recommendations on subdivision plats, development plans, and zoning amendments; develops and updates local zoning regulations; assists and supports jurisdictions by answering questions and providing technical assistance; performs work related to LUC’s Geographic Information System (GIS); and assists the Director in the operation of the Regional Planning Commission.

Qualifications include Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Planning, Geography, GIS, or a related field, or 3-5 years professional planning or development work experience; or any combination of training, education, or experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position. Candidates must be able to operate personal computer, computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Outlook, ESRI GIS, other applicable computer software), printer, scanner, copy machine, calculator, other standard business office equipment, motor vehicle.

The schedule of this position includes evening meetings, which the position must be able to attend. This is a county government position and is located in East Liberty, Ohio.
