Description

The City of Upper Arlington is looking for a motivated Community Development Intern who is ready to apply their knowledge and skills to a real-world, local government experience. This position will function primarily at the Municipal Service Center, 3600 Tremont Road, Upper Arlington, OH 43221. Business hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The position is approved for 5/1/2023 through 8/18/2023 for up to 40 hours per week. Attendance at evening Board of Zoning and Planning meetings may be required.

Examples of Duties

The Community Development Intern will assist the City’s Community Development Department by taking on a variety of tasks related to the City’s zoning code, permit application submittal process, and other items handled on a day to day basis by the Department. Other projects and assignments may originate from the City Manager’s Office or other related City departments.

This is an exciting opportunity for a college student to gain experience in the pursuit of a local government job in Urban Planning and/or Municipal Government. Preference will be given to an individual who has completed entry level City Planning, Real Estate and/or Management coursework, or has related professional experience.
