Downtown Redevelopment Services, LLC is a small planning firm that specializes in helping small to medium sized communities through downtown transformational projects. We are passionate about helping shape the future of downtowns through preservation, place-based design, and implementation strategies. We are seeking a motivated and creative Entry-Level Architect and Planner to join our dynamic team and contribute to exciting projects that blend historical preservation with modern architectural practices.
Position Overview:
As an Entry-Level Architect and Planner, you will play a crucial role in supporting our preservation and planning projects. You will work closely with senior staff to develop and execute downtown and community plans that respect historical context while incorporating innovative solutions. A strong emphasis will be placed on 3D modeling, enabling you to visualize and communicate complex design concepts effectively
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and planning of preservation projects, including research and documentation of historical sites.
- Develop 3D models and visualizations using sketchup, CAD and other softwares for presentations with clients.
- Collaborate with senior team members to create detailed downtown and site activation plans.
- Conduct site analyses and contribute to project assessments, ensuring compliance with preservation guidelines and regulations.
- Prepare and present design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- Support project management tasks, including coordinating with consultants, preparing reports, and tracking project progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Planning, or a related field.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as SketchUp or similar.
- Familiarity with preservation principles and historical architecture is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for innovative design solutions.
