Community Development Director

City of Riverside

The City of Riverside is seeking an experienced community development professional to lead its economic development, planning, zoning and code enforcement efforts. The position is an opportunity for an individual to utilize their skills and experience in community redevelopment and marketing to make a significant difference in the community. The Director will work to grow and recruit businesses, improve the quality of neighborhoods and promote the City. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, urban planning or related field and five years progressively responsible experience in economic development, community development, planning, redevelopment, or equivalent. Two years supervisory experience is required. Knowledge and familiarity with public project management related to economic development and infrastructure are required. Certification through the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and/or Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) through the International Economic Development Council is preferred. Master degree in public administration, urban planning or related field preferred. The salary range for this position is DOQ and includes a competitive benefits package.
