Planners unite in Uptown Oxford! Join us on a walking tour highlighting the redevelopment of Oxford's historic urban core, with special focus on High Street's transformation since the early 2000s. The tour will discuss: how changes made to the City's Charter in 2007 spurred redevelopment, lessons learned on potential missed opportunities for funding new streetscape infrastructure, historic context of specific sites including brick paved US 27, and place-making efforts currently in process. The tour will finish inside Redlife Coffee, a historic home on the National Register converted into a popular coffee shop / meeting space. Stay for drinks or dinner at local Calendula. After our event concludes, stick around for optional entertainment at the monthly 2nd Friday Celebration of the Arts at the Oxford Community Arts Center, just across the street from Calendula. Access to the Arts Center event is free and open to the public from 6:00-9:30 p.m.
