Zoning Inspector

Pay Range: $52,000-$70,000
Under general supervision, assists in all phases of the operation of the Planning and Zoning Division, performs related duties; inspection and administration of zoning and code enforcement activities. Assists the public with all planning and zoning related information.
Assists in the administration of City Comprehensive Plan and enforcement of zoning, property maintenance and sign codes; prepares conceptual plans and specifications related to community development projects (i.e., graphic illustration, layout, research of materials, etc.) as authorized by the Planning & Zoning Manager.
Assists in the preparation and revisions of all adopted comprehensive land-use plans of the City.
Attends and participates in meetings as required (e.g., Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, City Beautification, MVRPC, Troy City Council, Troy Main Street, Historical District and others as assigned).
Reviews plans and information for conformance to zoning regulations and answers inquiries about the zoning code such as building setbacks, minimum lot size, number of required parking spaces, sign requirements, zoning appeals, rezoning, annexations, etc., and issues necessary zoning permits for the same as required.
Assists in the enforcement and administration of the property maintenance code and all applicable laws and ordinances of the City of Troy and the State of Ohio and other sections of the codified ordinance as assigned by the Planning & Zoning Manager; makes inspections to ensure that all approved plans are in compliance.
